Job Description

A leading manufacturer in the automotive industry is seeking a dependable and experienced Masters Controls Technician for its facility in Westminster, SC. The Master Technician will play a pivotal role in providing technical leadership, training, and support to plant operations, focusing on leading capital projects, process improvements, implementing new technologies, benchmarking best-in-class facilities, and implementing best practices in processes, equipment, and workflows. This is a direct hire position with full benefits! 
Responsibilities:
  • Design mechanical, electrical, and control systems within the department to enhance manufacturing capabilities. 
  • Enhance existing machine tools and manufacturing processes to increase uptime, improve quality, and boost productivity. 
  • Support manufacturing by overseeing production equipment and processes, assigning projects and tasks to maintenance/engineering technicians. 
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives to meet plant-wide requirements and improve operational efficiency. 
  • Support and drive continual improvement programs such as 5S, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and Kaizen activities. 
  • Train production associates and maintenance technicians on new technologies and updated manufacturing processes. 
  • Adhere to Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) guidelines. 
  • Manage capital projects from planning and procurement to installation, commissioning, and handover to operations. 
  • Lead plant shutdown projects to ensure smooth and efficient maintenance activities 
  • Collaborate with plant, technical support, maintenance, and manufacturing teams to achieve plant goals including safety, quality, productivity, growth, housekeeping, and teamwork. 
Requirements:
  • Associates degree in technical field preferred or 5 years work experience with controls
  • Knowledge of programming and designing controls systems utilizing PC’s, PLCs, electrical and pneumatic components
  • Experience in writing and debugging code for SLC 500, ControlLogix, or Omron
  • Experience with CNC or NC controls
  • HMI program development experience
  • Experience in hardware/panel design, motor sizing, component selection, drive system selection and programming, robotics and motion control.
  • Experience with automation network interfaces for data and control (Ethernet, DeviceNet, Profibus/Profinet)
  • Experience in machine vision setup and programming preferred
  • Working knowledge of NEC code 
  • AutoCAD experience preferred
  • Results oriented personality and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience in continuous improvement activities will be considered a plus.  This includes using tools such as kaizens, mistake proofing, establishing standard work practices, problem solving, pull systems, 5S, setup reduction, TPM, etc.
 Pay Rate: $ 32-42/Hour, Based on Experience
Shift Schedule: 2nd or 3rd Shift Available
