Job Summary: The Product Engineer position is an entry-level role designed for individuals with foundational skills in AutoCAD and 3D modeling. A basic understanding of manufacturing processes is essential, as this role supports the introduction of new products and revisions to existing ones. You will collaborate closely with engineering, assembly, manufacturing, quality control, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth transitions from design to production. Key responsibilities include researching appropriate materials, working with Corporate Engineering to develop and test prototypes, and using customer feedback to identify and resolve product issues. Success in this role requires strong teamwork, effective communication, and a proactive approach to cross functional collaboration to deliver high-quality products and services to our customers.

Responsibilities:
- Product Design and Revision:
- Utilize CAD and Solid EDGE (3D) to create and revise product designs
- Address product defects and refine designs based on customer feedback
- Manufacturing and Production Oversight:
- Oversee the introduction of new products into manufacturing and production processes
- Work with assembly teams and manufacturing equipment to ensure effective product creation
- Material Research and Prototyping:
- Research optimal materials for product use and consult with Corporate Engineering
- Develop and test product prototypes
- Collaboration and Support:
- Collaborate with key teams including Engineering, Quality Control, Shop Floor Management, Warehouse, and Sales Engineering & Project Management
- Support CNC programmers, Quality Control for root cause analysis, and purchasing for drawing revisions
- Assist Capital Sales with machine CAD requirements
- Aid Shop Floor manufacturing with drawing interpretation and enhancements
- Product Development:
- Contribute to new product creation, particularly for the Hill Product Line
- Safety and Compliance:
- Always practice and comply with safety standards
- Bachelor’s in engineering, Associate level in AutoCAD, or equivalent work experience.
- Basic skills operating in the Software Environment
- AutoCAD, 3D (Solid Edge), ENOVIA (Product Life Cycle Management), LN (ERP System)
- Basic skills in the Manufacturing Environment
- New product creation, small and large modifications, raw material, product defect resolutions and root cause analysis
- General knowledge in shop floor work center production and capabilities
- Final Assembly Product Knowledge
- General understanding of machine functions
