Job Summary: The project manager is responsible for the execution of contracts with our customers. The PM oversees contract execution and monitors three main areas of each project: Scope, Budget, and Schedule. The PM must track these areas and manage them to ensure contract requirements, business goals, and objectives are met. The PM must understand all deliverables in the contract including payment terms and schedules and ensure commitments to customers are met on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:
  • Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for the planning, organization, control, procurement, and execution of capital equipment projects within the area of assigned responsibility.
  • Serves as primary customer communication point of contact for the capital equipment team.
  • Defines project objectives and deliverables. Organizes and leads the project team in a matrix environment according to the defined project requirements. Manages execution of the project from receipt of order thru final commissioning and tum over to the customer.
  • Forecasts and reports on project revenues, execution costs and final project gross margin.
  • Conducts formal risk assessments to identify technical, cost, delivery or application risks and develops appropriate action plans to mitigate those risks.
  • Works with assigned project personnel through specific phases or aspects of project, such as specification review/confirmation, project design, preparation of manufacturing BOMs (bills of material) and technical plans, procurement, manufacturing, shipping, installation and commissioning in accordance with project department guidelines.
  • Manages project design to ensure compliance with project deliverables, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications.
  • Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget and seeks ways to improve performance to drive down costs.
  • Oversees the project schedule to include purchasing, manufacturing, and engineering schedules and leads the team to maintain delivery dates.
  • Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Directs integration of technical activities and products.
  • Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and project drawings.
  • Prepares interim and completion project reports. Conducts project review sessions after every project to capture "lessons learned" in areas of good performance and required areas of improvement.
Requirements:
  • 4-year engineering or technical degree required. PMP Certification a plus.
    • In lieu of education: 5 years of mechanical design engineering, project management, and/or electrical engineering experience for an OEM providing capital equipment to industrial processors.
  • 5+ years technical experience in project management within industrial manufacturing with a high preference for experience in food processing equipment manufacturing and installation.
Skill Sets Needed:
  • Ability to multi-task with attention to detail required, strong budget management skills, mentality for collaboration and teamwork, and exceptional interpersonal skills to professionally relate to customers and all levels of management. 
  • Must possess familiarity with CAD systems such as AutoCAD or 3D modeling software and strong user knowledge in Infor LN ERP system. 
  • Able to read and understand drawings to include equipment drawings, general arrangements, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), wiring schematics and plant layouts. 
  • Must also possess skills in LEAN problem-solving methods such as PDCA, use of A3s and Kaizen events.
*Must be able to travel an average of 35% with some weekend travel required. Must be able to work in poultry processing facilities and wear required PPE including safety shoes, smock, hair/beard net, hard hat, hearing protection and eye protection as required. 
Salary: $100,000 - 115,000, Based on Experience
