Join a dynamic team at a leading manufacturing equipment supplier, as a Quality Control Engineer!
Job Summary: The Quality Control Engineer serves as the primary contact for Quality issues, collaborating with production and suppliers to drive process improvements and develop team members. They support daily process improvement efforts by maintaining the quality system and creating CMM programs and inspection solutions for both in-house and outsourced parts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor production floor processes for conformance to control plans and customer requirements which includes fit, function, reliability, durability and reappearance criteria.
  • Documents product acceptance/rejection on manufacturing orders, processes appropriate rejection documentation as necessary.
  • Perform and report internal quality audits.
  • Collaborates with Receiving and Purchasing Department to establish and ensure quality requirements for products received into the inventory system.
  • Actively participates in root cause analysis on failures.
  • Track supplier response to deliverable milestones, evaluate supplier response, provide feedback to supplier, and ensure closure of NCM reports.
  • Improve and engage suppliers in the First Article Inspection process (FAI) to support product revisions and new products.
  • Utilizes and promotes the use of appropriate quality tools (Lean/Sigma, 5Why charts, Cause and Effect Analysis, A3, create graphs and charts with appropriate data) throughout as needed.
  • Assist the Quality Manager to develop, implement, communicate and maintain a quality process.
  • Knowledge of operating measurement equipment including CMM.
  • Set up programs and provide training in the use of a CMM.
  • Train manufacturing team in best practices for measurement
  • Maintain and upkeep of calibration program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned such as but not limited to production auditing, inbound inspection, part inspection and validation. 
Requirements:
  • Related technical/operations degree (AS or BS) or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Without a degree, equivalent would be 5+ years of directly relevant experience. 
  • Proficiency in Fabrication/Assembly operations. (Saw, Welding, Bending, Forming, Milling, Lathing and assembly)
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, procedures and engineering drawings/specifications.
  • Proficient in the use of metrology to validate part item dimensions.
  • Proficient in the use of ID/OD Calipers, ID/OD Micrometers, Bore Mics, Hight Gages, Pin gages, thread gages, Optical comparators and other fabrication measuring tools.
  • Ability to analyze situations and make decisions.
  • Previous fabrication/assembly experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a lead and/or coordinator role is preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
  • Familiarity with CMM or PCMM a plus.
  •  Knowledge of Lean\Six Sigma Yellow\Green Belt a plus.
