Job Description

Summary: The Plant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the manufacturing plant. This role ensures that production meets quality standards, scheduling and staffing are efficient, and safety procedures are followed. The supervisor will manage a team of employees, coordinate workflows, and work closely with others to meet production targets. The role requires a balance of hands-on problem-solving, excellent organizational skills, team management, and operational oversight. This role requires a hands-on, proactive approach to managing plant operations. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, quality-driven, and skilled in optimizing resources and team performance to achieve production targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise Daily Operations
    1. Oversee all aspects of production, ensuring output meets quality and timeline standards.
    2. Monitor equipment and coordinate maintenance and repairs to prevent downtime.
    3. Ensure that all safety protocols are strictly followed, fostering a safe working environment.
  • Team Management
    1. Lead and manage a team of production workers, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
    2. Address and resolve any workforce issues, and encourage team development and morale.
    3. Work with management to ensure adequate staffing levels to meet production demands.
  • Production Planning
    1. Collaborate with upper management on production goals and timelines.
    2. Assist in resource planning, including ordering materials and supplies as needed.
    3. Ensure efficient workflow and adjust schedules or personnel assignments as necessary to meet changing production needs.
  • Inventory Tracking
    1. Monitor paperwork for the receipt and shipping of raw materials and finished goods.
    2. Keep accurate records of all materials in the plant.
  • Maintain Paperwork
    1. Maintain organized records of production sheets, shipping paperwork, timesheets, etc. regarding the plant.
  • Quality Control
    1. Monitor production output for quality and consistency, implementing quality control measures as needed.
    2. Coordinate with management to address any product defects or quality concerns.
    3. Implement and enforce policies that ensure high standards of production quality.
  • Continuous Improvement
    1. Identify areas for process improvement and work with teams to implement solutions.
    2. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, promoting employee suggestions for process enhancements.
    3. Work closely with others to improve overall plant efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; a degree or certification in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience: 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Skills:
    1. Strong leadership and team-building skills.
    2. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    3. Good understanding of safety regulations and quality control processes.
    4. proficiency in scheduling and managing production workflows.
    5. Basic computer skills, including MS Office and production software.
    6. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
  • Working Conditions:
    1. Ability to work on the plant floor, including handling physical tasks and standing for extended periods.
    2. May require occasional weekend or evening hours to meet production goals.
    3. Will work in an environment with exposure to manufacturing noise and equipment.
Shift Schedule: 1st Shift, 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday – Thursday
Pay Rate: $ 24/Hour
