This position is part of the Production Department. This position is responsible for the quality molding of sales ready finished goods while working to run the production lines as efficiently as possible by lowering cycle time and reducing scrap.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Performs all duties in a safe manner to include keeping the work area clean & neat. If any unsafe conditions are identified in or outside the HMP facility, these items need to be brought to the attention of the Production Supervisor immediately.
2. Ensure all safety chains are always in place.
3. Maintain a clean and neat molding area, to include cleanup of floors.
4. Communicate with the outgoing/oncoming Machine Operators to review how each machine is operating and relay any problems, changeovers or shutdown information.
5. At the start of every shift, verify that all pumps are running with water flowing through them.
6. Utilizing the “Data Myte” system and the specifications manual, ensure that all specifications are within tolerance to produce high quality product at the lowest cycle time.
7. Monitor wet weights every 15 minutes and make adjustments as necessary.
8. Inspect dry product at the end of the belt every 30 minutes and make adjustments as required.
9. The Machine Operator is to spend all available time attending the machines to ensure production of quality product. This position demands constant monitoring of the equipment.
10. The Machine Operator must communicate with other Machine Operators when going on break to ensure their machines are always monitored.
11. Clean and wash molds as necessary to ensure maximum quality product is being produced.
12. When molds are taken off the machine for repair follow mold repair procedure.
13. All unscheduled machine downtime is to be reported to the Supervisor or Assist immediately.
14. Complete all mold changes in safe, quick and timely manner to minimize unnecessary downtime using the buddy system. Report all mold changes to the Supervisor or immediately.
15. Prior to a mold change, have all the tools necessary, retrieve the molds you need, inspect them and transport them to the machine they are going to run on.
16. Ensure that no molds are sitting around equipment. Follow mold storage procedures.
17. Report any machine problems to the Supervisor or Assistant Supervisor immediately.
18. Ensure that all machine operator time cards and shift manufacturing data sheets are filled out daily, neatly and accurately. Data to be included: head setup, average cycle time, total downtime defined by cause, and number of dips per head setup. This information should be turned in to the Supervisor at the end of the shift.
19. Assigned area must always be kept clean.
20. Provide assistance to other Henry Molded Products employees as required.
21. Performs all other duties and projects as assigned by the Shift Supervisor, Assistant Shift Supervisor or Management
