Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician performs functions of cleaning and lubricating various equipment and assists with some maintenance activities relying on instruction and pre-established guidelines to perform tasks. Responsibilities:

Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician performs functions of cleaning and lubricating various equipment and assists with some maintenance activities relying on instruction and pre-established guidelines to perform tasks. Responsibilities:
- Performs all duties in a safe manner to include keeping the work area clean & neat, and the use of the “LOCK OUT/TAG OUT procedure when required. If any unsafe conditions are identified in or outside the HMP facility, these items need to be brought to the attention of Maintenance Supervisor immediately.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Assists in performing maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, or electrical.
- Assists with dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts and installs new or repaired parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
- Under supervision, may operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts for fabricating stands, guards, and other parts.
- Assist in off-hours calls when required.
- Performs all other duties and projects as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, Assistant Maintenance Supervisor or Management.
- Performs preventive maintenance functions according to task lists.
- Performs work safely and follows health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Ensures that job site is left clean after the job is completed.
- Completes assigned work in a timely manner to reduce down time in the production environment.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferable
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Must be able to read and write English proficiently and accurately to completing required reports.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to use measuring equipment
