Job Description

We are seeking a Loom Maintenance Technician for a leading manufacturer in Anderson, SC that provides opportunities for long-term career growth! The Loom Maintenance Technician (LMT) is the principal loom operator responsible for performing highly diversified duties; installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining production equipment in the weaving area

Responsibilities:
  • Observe safety and security procedures by constantly inspecting area for hazards, correcting, and resolving safety issues within their control, reporting unsafe conditions, using equipment and materials properly and actively participating in safety initiatives.
  • Act as shift leader on assigned shift.
  • Train and retrain employees assigned to the looms, complete necessary training documentation (no additional instructor add-on rate since this is a requirement of the role).
  • Provide specialized maintenance duties to install, maintain and repair weaving equipment.
  • Diagnose problems, troubleshoot the process, replace or repair parts, test and make necessary adjustments to ensure equipment remains in production or returned to production as quickly as possible.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment and timely return of equipment back into production.
  • Read and interpret; equipment manuals, technical documentation and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Establish and/or follow PM programs.
  • Detect defective material and take immediate corrective steps to eliminate problems within your scope of responsibility or report items outside the scope of your responsibility to the appropriate manager as soon as possible to ensure timely resolution.
  • Complete assignments accurately and thoroughly while meeting productivity and quality expectations.
  • Prepare and set-up machinery according to process and product specifications.
  • Understands equipment capabilities, equipment production expectations and equipment performance expectations.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer minimum of 5 years of experience in related weaving manufacturing environment (special consideration will be given to individuals with related Dornier loom maintenance and weaving experience)
  • Experience using mechanical and electrical testing equipment
  • For absence of education and work experience requirements, would consider candidates with 8+ years of experience in a related job or industry with documented successful performance recommendation
  • Must be willing and able to certify as first aid/CPR first responder and once certified, be a first responder to supply first aid/CPR treatment as necessary.
  • Must have forklift and low-lift truck certification
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematics
  • Fine finger movement necessary to work with yarns, knobs, controls.
  • Ability to work in tight spaces, on platforms, and remain in awkward positions when performing set-up or certain tasks. Must reach, twist, bend, push, pull, stoop. 
Shift Schedule: 2nd Shift, 4:00 pm - 12:00 am OR 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Pay Rate: $24.90/Hour, Pay increases based on performance and training
