Job Summary: As a Product Specialist, you are responsible for being the “evangelist” for our Secondary portfolio, which includes Cut-up and Deboning solutions. You will work side by side supporting sales channels and Product Managers as the subject matter expert in Secondary solutions. Knowledge transfer, regional Voice of the Customer, competitive analysis and launching innovative new products will be your passion.

Job Summary: As a Product Specialist, you are responsible for being the “evangelist” for our Secondary portfolio, which includes Cut-up and Deboning solutions. You will work side by side supporting sales channels and Product Managers as the subject matter expert in Secondary solutions. Knowledge transfer, regional Voice of the Customer, competitive analysis and launching innovative new products will be your passion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly understand the assigned products and applications for the markets served - i.e., quickly become the "subject matter expert" for the product line.
- Provide assistance to sales support activities including product sales training, customer demonstrations and customer contact and follow up.
- Collect detailed product requirements using Voice of the Customer techniques, trade shows, secondary market data and open communications with the sales organization and product managers.
- Provide tangible reporting of competitive products; detailing features and performance, and general activities/trends that could affect product sales.
- Propose product changes for impacts on cost, appearance and functionality of products in product group.
- Work with Marketing to develop marketing campaigns for maximum effectiveness. Includes tactics related to product positioning, product features, bundling of products, and promotional activities.
- Provide research for activities associated with product profit improvement such as warranty reduction programs and cost improvement.
- Contribute to related promotional activities including shows, videos, sales materials, direct mail, etc.
- Associate’s degree in technical, engineering or related field; BS/BA Degree a plus
- Minimum of 3 years of product experience with capital equipment or automation systems, software or aftermarket products
- Training and/or experience in working with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, product management, development, operations, and service
- Good problem-solving skills. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully, develops alternative solutions
- Capable of managing multiple tasks
- Strong self-motivator with the ability to tackle complex issues
- Quick learner with a history of learning new products/technologies/software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; customer skills; persuasiveness.
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Domestic and international travel required (40-50%).
