Job Description

A Lead Operator is needed at a global leader in critical IT infrastructure in Anderson, SC. We are seeking a motivated and team focused individual that has strong leadership skills. This is a Direct Hire position with benefits and opportunity for growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Function as Team Leader over Team Members.
  • Coordinate placement of team members and track work hours & overtime, job rotation, training, and absenteeism.
  • Understand, execute, and ensure consistent compliance with all company rules, policies, and practices.
  • Take appropriate corrective action when warranted, in accordance with the terms of the Company Handbook.
  • Monitor the flow of parts, materials, productivity, and quality including inventory levels.
  • Troubleshoot daily quality, safety, and production issues.
  • Lead continuous improvement activity for assigned area.
  • Participate in the setting of Key Performance Indication (KPI) targets including safety, quality, operational availability, scrap, etc. as a method of continuous improvement.
  • Lead, perform, and/or participate in ergonomic exercises, 5S housekeeping, accident investigation, safety audits and related activities.
  • Maintain knowledge of procedures including Hazardous Waste, Spill Response, and Plant Security.
  • Maintain training matrix for team leaders and/or team members, assuring training is effective and corrects sub-standard practices.
  • Ensure further development of team members through daily communication and start of shift meetings.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior leadership experience
  • A strong Mechanical and Electrical aptitude preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Experience in light gauge metal fabrication such as punching, forming, welding, finishing, etc. preferred.
  • Working knowledge and experience with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, measuring tapes, etc.)
  • Prior experience with blueprints and schematics preferred.
  • Minimum of (3) years of relevant manufacturing experience required.
