Job Description

We are seeking a Field Service Technician for a company that specializes in designing and manufacturing high-quality switchgear solutions for power distribution in Gray Court, SC. This is a direct hire role with excellent benefits!  Responsibilities:
  • Fulfill parts orders to ensure quality and delivery expectations are met. 
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding the storage, installation, testing, or potential product non-conformance resolution. 
  • Maintain knowledge of product and field practices. 
  • Conduct testing on HV switchgear: Circuit function test, timing test, contact resistance test, insulation resistance test, Dielectric Withstand (Hi-Pot) test, Vacuum Integrity test, Bushing Current Transformer (BCT) test, wire insulation test, and helium leak test.
  • Perform repair on HV switchgear: Utilizing work instructions to repair equipment accurately and efficiently in the field and in the plant using power and precision tools. 
  • Support customer request in the field: Traveling to customer sites, perform classroom training and hands-on training to customers. Make repairs in the field and perform testing in the field. 
  • Completes work plan for each assigned task in timely & quality-oriented manner. 
  • Maintains high quality levels by establishing, revising, and enforcing organization standards. 
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by demonstrating an understanding of all control points, equipment, and resources, comply with established policies and procedures. 
  • Resolve customer problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action. 
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies. 
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed. 
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft software to document findings, generate reports, and communicate procedures and tasks to customers. 
Requirements:
  • Prefer AAS in Mechatronics or Engineering technology, other combinations of education and experience will be considered 
  • 3-5 years’ progressive experience in a manufacturing or field service environment. 
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially EXCEL. 
  • ERP system experience, preferably SAP 
  • Able to effectively communicate up and down the organizational hierarchy. 
  • Able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure. 
  • The ability to travel up to 60% to customer site locations to conduct service work (U.S and Canada). 
Pay Rate: $28-35/Hour, Based on Experience Benefits Highlights:
  • 85% of employee and family benefits paid by employer
  • 152 hours of PTO after 30 days of employment
