Job Description

We are seeking a Field Service Technician for a company that specializes in designing and manufacturing high-quality switchgear solutions for power distribution in Gray Court, SC. This is a direct hire role with excellent benefits!


Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate field services to accommodate customers’ request.
  • Perform skilled repair work and manufacture warranty work on high voltage switchgears(38Kv, 72.5Kv, 145Kv voltage classes) in the US/Canada region.
  • Assist utilities and contractors with maintenance, repair, testing, and commissioning of high voltage switchgear.
  • Conduct training classes for utilities and customers to explain technical drawings and standard applications.
  • Manage incoming parts orders to ensure quality and deliver expectations are met
  • Manage incoming questions and request for support from our customers to ensure answers/actions meet the needs of our customers.
  • Maintain knowledge of product and field
  • Improves workflow by monitoring steps of the process; reducing processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Completes work plan for each assigned task in timely & quality-oriented manner.
  • Maintains high quality levels by establishing, revising, and enforcing organization standards.
  • Provides excellent customer support by answering questions and responding to requests in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary. Implements change.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by demonstrating an understanding of all control points, equipment, and resources, exceeding compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Resolves Customer problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree in Mechatronics preferred (Relevant course work: AC/DC Circuits, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Motor Controls, PLC, Robotics, Troubleshooting.)
  • Experience performing repairs on high voltage switchgears(38Kv, 72.5Kv, 145Kv voltage classes) 
  • Thorough understanding and utilization of engineering drawings, including wiring schematics, wiring diagrams, and outline drawings, to ensure accurate installation, troubleshooting, and verification of circuit functionality.
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment such as contact resistance meters, voltmeters, Hipot testers, and current transducers for accurate assessment and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • The ability to travel up to 60% to customer site locations to conduct service work. 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Pay Rate: $28-31/Hour, Based on Experience
