Job Summary: The Extrusion Operator is responsible for operating a machine in a safe, competent, efficient, and productive manner. Beyond the technical qualifications of the position, it is important that the individual demonstrates a character with strong family values and a willingness to build a solid working relationship with hands-on ownership.

Job Summary: The Extrusion Operator is responsible for operating a machine in a safe, competent, efficient, and productive manner. Beyond the technical qualifications of the position, it is important that the individual demonstrates a character with strong family values and a willingness to build a solid working relationship with hands-on ownership.
Responsibilities:
- Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.
- Follows necessary GMP regulations/guidelines.
- Keeps records of the operation of the machine and troubleshooting that was done.
- Maintains quality standards for the product.
- Ensures the proper materials are in place in a timely and orderly fashion
- Assists maintenance personnel as required, if properly trained.
- Assists with the training of other employees if trained to do so.
- Must be able to solve problems and root cause analysis
- Must meet company’s core values and principles
- Must be flexible in work hours, dependable and committed to producing a quality product.
- Expectation of a challenging and learning experience and willingness to be taught
- Follows necessary GMPs to comply with regulations (SQF).
- Conducts job in a manner which complies to the food safety program (SQF).
- Reports food safety problems immediately to supervisor or a QA team member.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least two years manufacturing experience preferred. Blown film experience is a plus.
- Prior experience in food safety preferred
- Previous extrusion, machine troubleshooting, and light machine maintenance is a plus.
- Prior computer experience preferred.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate orally and written.
- Ability to work in a team orientated environment.
- Steel toe shoes required.
