Job Description
The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain a presence on the production floor to assist production supervisor as needed, assist in molder training and troubleshooting, assist in pulper training and troubleshooting and various areas crucial to the safe and efficient manufacturing of quality products. Additionally, lead utility personnel are responsible for training new staff, assisting in insuring safety standards are met, and providing coverage for your supervisor as needed. Responsibilities:
- Safety is paramount at HMP and lead utility personnel are charged with assisting to ensure employees adhere to safe working procedures and practices. Also make suggestions to assist in eliminating any unsafe conditions.
- In the absence of the Shift Supervisor, the Lead Utility is responsible for the supervision of all production employees during your shift.
- Meet with previous shift Lead Utility and together review production floor activities with the Molders and Pulpers to ensure all areas have been properly maintained, cleaned, etc., prior to beginning of the next shift.
- Actively participate in all sample runs to assist Mold Shop and shift Molders as needed.
- Complete previous shift’s machine efficiency, account for skids produced on previous shift in the absence of the Shift Supervisor.
- While mold change is taking place or after completion, confirm all mold change procedures were followed by the machine operators.
- Assist the Shift Supervisor in inspecting the molder area to ensure the SOPs are followed, any production problems are addressed, and the machines are running at optimum efficiency
- Detail oriented and able to quickly react to making required adjustments.
- Ability to read and write English proficiently and accurately to complete required reports.
