Job Description

Come join the energetic team at a leading machine shop in Pelzer, SC! We are in search of an experienced Setup machinist that is self-motivated and able to accomplish a high level of work without supervision to produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating Manual CNC lathes. 

Responsibilities:
  • Ability to make edits and prove programs
  • CNC programming at the controls
  • Solid understanding of G-Code/M-Code
  • Ability to read drawings/blueprints
  • Selection of cutting tools, machine speeds and feed rates according to machine capabilities and work holding
  • Self- motivated with strong attention to detail
  • Communicate all defects and scrap
  • Notify supervisor of any problems in manufacturing product or safety issues
  • Shop math skills- geometry and trig
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively
  • Use of PPE (personal protective equipment) and safe lifting techniques
  • Utilize CAM programming software to create and optimize CNC programs
  • Set up and operate CNC machines to fabricate parts according to engineering drawings
  • Perform quality checks using bore gauges, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines, and other precision tools
  • Troubleshoot and adjust machine settings to ensure proper functionality
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to interpret blueprints and specifications
Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Proficiency in Manual CNC programming and operation
  • Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes
  • Familiarity with CATIA or similar CAD/CAM software
  • Experience with G-Code/M-Code required
  • Experience with Fanuc Controls is required
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or machining environment is required (5+ years)
Shift Schedule: 1st Shift, 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday-Friday
