Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Assembly Supervisor to join a growing team at a leading automotive bearing manufacturer in West Union, SC!  
Job Summary: This position is primarily responsible for overseeing the assembly line operations and ensuring that personnel issues and performance are managed effectively. This role requires a high focus on continuous improvement, attention to detail, and adherence to standards. The Assembly Supervisor will lead a team of assembly workers, fostering a positive work environment and driving productivity. 
Responsibilities: 
  • Direct the hiring, training, and developing of a highly motivated workforce to elevate the skill level of employees as well as provide flexibility in a multi-functional workforce environment in order to answer to changing needs. 
  • Responsible for supervising several departments. Administer performance reviews for hourly associates.  Recommend promotions, wage increases and disciplinary measures as needed. Determine the staffing, equipment and tooling required for the given level of production and plan for capital expenditures.  Set operating costs budgets and operate the department to budget. 
  • This position is responsible for managing and maintaining all health, safety and environmental standards and operating the shift within quality, delivery, safety, cost and profit objectives.  Lead and manage all resources to ensure the achievement of all KPI’s. 
  • Schedule maintenance requests, equipment shutdowns, and major repairs to maintain production and quality levels.  Drive Preventative Maintenance activities to improve equipment uptime. 
  • Conduct audits and support the value stream’s position during customer and other audits. Daily pitch the value streams and drive scrap market activities. Work with Kaizen Team to meet constant improvements objectives.  Utilize time study, Yarijimai or other tools to meet improvement targets. 
  • Train hourly associates and schedule personnel for maximum efficiency. Establish standard operating procedures. Responsible for ensuring that production processes meet the production schedule to quality specifications. Work closely with process engineers and technicians, maintenance repair persons and factory service persons. Operate the department to meet daily and weekly work schedules by assignment. 
  • Major accountabilities include, but are not limited to: safety performance, customer satisfaction and corrective actions, Bekido & Chokko improvements, on time delivery performance, lead time reduction, reduce product cost, process improvement and lead/coach associates to participate in continuous improvement.
  • Drive and teach problem solving and continuous improvement. 
  • Support 5-S, TS16949 and ISO 14001 efforts throughout the facility. 
  • Ensures associates are working safely, following all safety rules and procedures.  Also ensures that equipment is meeting all safety requirements. 
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.  This is not all inclusive and can change as business conditions change.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related Manufacturing field preferred, or 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role experience. 
  • Knowledge of gauge design, metrology, sampling procedures, containment, corrective action procedures and process control.  Knowledge of manufacturing operations management, production control and quality control. 
  • Skills in supervision of personnel and group facilitation.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills a plus
 Shift Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday - Friday

Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000, Based on Experience
